Afghan officials say the death toll from a suicide attack at the entrance to a shi’ite mosque in the Capital Kabul, which occurred as worshippers gathered for Friday prayers has risen to 30.
The so-called terror group Islamic State, which has launched several attacks against minority Shi’ite targets in Afghanistan, has already claimed responsibility.
Police said by Friday evening they had secured the mosque in the Khair Khana area of the capital, and all three attackers were dead.
Meanwhile, victims of Friday’s attack on Shi’ite Muslims in Afghanistan have directed their anger squarely at the government.
They accused it of failing to protect them despite repeated attacks.
At least 30 victims were buried on Saturday on the grounds of the same mosque as hundreds of family members, friends, and other mourners gathered under bullet-marked buildings.
