Religious leaders have urged the federal government to take proactive measures to totally ban the importation of ostentatious goods mostly consumed by the top echelon of the Nigerian strata.
They argued that Nigeria’s anticipated gradual exit from the ongoing economic downturn would remain a mirage and might take longer than expected if government does not take required steps.
General Overseer of the Sanctuary of Christ Evangelical Church in Ibadan Pastor Gbade Ojo stated this at her 18th annual convention and thanksgiving service.
Similarly, Deputy Governor of Oyo State Moses Alake- Adeyemo took the occasion to charge the church contribute to national development.
