An American, Montia Rice who allegedly lost about 6.6 million naira to fraudsters has asked a federal high court in Lagos to relist a suit in which he obtained judgement 17 years ago.
The alleged fraudster was Fred Ajudua and six others. Montia said he transferred funds from his account to the Nigerians through UBA, after they convinced him to finance a project.
17 Years ago the judge had entered judgement in favour of Rice after the defendants failed to appear.But the judgment could not be enforced due to the death of the counsel representing him, he also fled the country after he said his life was threatened.
Proceedings could not go-on as the foreign nationals who are also defendants in the case had no interpreter.
Justice Olatoregun adjourned the matter till march the 20th.
