An Abuja high court has sentenced to death, two police officers ( the 4th and 5th defendants), who were involved in the extra judicial killing of the Apo Six.
The Chief Judge of the Fct high court, Justice Ishaq Bello, who gave the three hour judgement, said the conviction is under section 221(A), of the penal code.
The other three defendants, were absolved of the charges while the Second defendant, is still at large.
The counsel to the 4th defendant, asked for leniency, stating that he was the bread winner of his family.
The incident took place on 8th June,2005. The six deceased, who resided at Apo mechanic village, were allegedly returning from a party when they met the police officers on stop and search.
Defendants 1,3 and 6, were discharged and acquitted.
