President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting which usually takes place on Wednesday.
The president has instead sent a delegation of top government officials to Borno State, following Tuesday’s accidental air fire that killed more than 50 people, including aid workers.
The team includes Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari; the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali; Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed; and service chiefs.
The Nigerian Air Force says it has begun an investigation into the accidental air strike.
