Exactly a week after the Rivers legislative rerun election, the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris says he has set up a panel to investigate an alleged implicating audio comment by Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike on the election.
An audio report which was supposed to be the voice of Wike threatening officials of the Independent electoral Commission was released online moments after the election.
According to the spokesman of the Police Force, DCP Don Awunah, the panel would also investigate 70 incidents mentioned by the INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmud Yakub, during the elections.

He enjoined the Rivers State government and INEC to avail the panel with facts at their disposal to achieve a comprehensive and conclusive investigation.
