The Headquarters 13 Brigade of the Nigerian Army has announced an amendment to the previously scheduled screening and verification exercise for children of deceased personnel who died in active service under the Nigerian Army Education Sponsorship Scheme for the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a statement, the formation, which operates under the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, said the exercise earlier planned to hold across geopolitical zones from 2 February to 6 March 2026 will now take place nationwide between 9 February and 13 March 2026.
It added that beneficiaries within the 82 Division’s area of responsibility, including formations under the division such as 13 Brigade, will undergo screening at the Headquarters 82 Division in Enugu from 14 to 17 February 2026.
Eligible beneficiaries in Cross River State have therefore been advised to take note of the adjustment and report to the 82 Division headquarters in Enugu on the stipulated dates.
The statement noted that the rescheduling is aimed at ensuring a seamless, transparent and well-coordinated screening and verification process for all qualified beneficiaries, urging parents, guardians and beneficiaries to present all required documents as previously directed.
The Nigerian Army, through the 13 Brigade, reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and educational advancement of children of fallen soldiers who died in the line of duty.
