The Executive Chairman of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), Prof. Nasir Garba Anka, has restated the board’s commitment to strengthening agricultural education in basic schools across the state as part of efforts to promote self-reliance among students.

Prof. Anka gave the assurance during a visit to Girls Focal Primary and Junior Secondary School, Tudun Wada, where he inspected the ongoing Agricultural Education Programme.

He described agriculture, including poultry and fish farming, as practical ventures capable of equipping pupils with entrepreneurial and life skills at an early stage. He added that the board plans to introduce additional business-oriented projects to expand and sustain the initiative.

The ZSUBEB chairman commended the school principal, Hajiya Amina Aminu, for what he described as her commitment to the successful implementation of the programme. He assured the school of continued support and necessary assistance from the board.

In her remarks, Aminu expressed appreciation to the chairman and his team for their support. She said the agricultural initiative has had a positive impact on the school community and revealed that it inspired her to establish a small-scale business, with her family also benefiting from the skills acquired through the programme.
