Zamfara market fire: Govt pays over N27M full compensation to 67 affected traders

Zamfara State Government has paid over twenty seven million naira full compensation to sixty seven traders of Tudun Wada Central Market affected by fire outbreak

Tudun Wada Central Market in Gusau, the Zamfara state Capital was gutted by fire as a result of electrical fault in March this year

Distributing the cash to the affected traders, the Commissioners of Finance Sufiyan Bashir Yuguda said all those affected by the fire were fully compensated.

He said the affected traders were screened by a committee set up by the state government comprises of the traders union and the government

According to him, the traders were giving the compensation according to what they loss to the inferno

He urge the traders to use the money to revive their businesses for the economy growth of their respective families and the state at large

On her part, the Zamfara state Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Fa’ika Ahmad said government is committed to rebuilding the affected part of the market

She appeal to the traders to avoid wrong electrical wiring and illegal structures that will cause them damages in the future

Responding, some of the traders commended the state government for the prompt assistance, describing it as a show of love by the state Governor Bello Matawalle

They assured of their readiness to continue to support the state government in its efforts to restore peace in the state for economy activities to strive.
