Vice President Kashim Shettima has met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja, to brief him on Nigeria’s participation at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The meeting came shortly before President Tinubu departed the country on a state visit to the Republic of Türkiye.

 

Fresh from Nigeria’s engagements at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Vice President Kashim Shettima updated President Bola Tinubu on key outcomes of the global economic meeting.

The Vice President outlined high-level engagements held, investor interest generated and the prospects for advancing the administration’s economic reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The briefing, which took place at the State House in Abuja, underscored Nigeria’s renewed push for foreign investment, stronger economic partnerships and policy alignment with global best practices.

 

Moments after the engagement, President Tinubu departed Abuja on Monday, January 26, for a state visit to Türkiye, aimed at deepening bilateral relations between both countries.

According to a State House press release, the visit will focus on expanding cooperation in critical sectors including security, education, innovation, aviation, social development, trade and investment.

President Tinubu is also expected to hold strategic political and diplomatic talks with Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, building on the long-standing cordial relationship between Nigeria and Türkiye.

 

The visit will feature meetings between senior officials of both countries, as well as the signing of several memoranda of understanding in areas such as energy, scientific research, technical cooperation, media and communications, military collaboration and protocol.

A Nigeria–Türkiye business forum is also scheduled during the visit, bringing together investors from both nations to explore new economic opportunities.
President Tinubu is expected to return to the country at the conclusion of the state visit.
