FIFA has unveiled its official Best XI of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, recognising the standout performers from the tournament following the conclusion of the month-long competition across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The team was selected through a fan vote and features players who excelled in every department during the tournament.
Spain and France each contributed three players to the star-studded lineup, while Argentina had two representatives. England, Norway and Cape Verde each had one player included in the final selection.
Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha was named between the sticks, while the defensive line comprises Spain duo Pedro Porro and Marc Cucurella, France centre-back Dayot Upamecano and Argentina defender Lisandro Martínez.

The midfield features Spain’s Rodri alongside France’s Michael Olise and England’s Jude Bellingham, while the attacking trio consists of Argentina captain Lionel Messi, France striker Kylian Mbappe and Norway goal machine Erling Haaland.
The Best XI reflected the dominance of Spain, who capped a remarkable campaign with three players in the team, while France matched that tally despite finishing third. Argentina’s run to the final earned Messi and Lisandro Martínez places in the lineup, while Haaland, Bellingham and Vozinha completed the side after impressive individual performances throughout the tournament.
Mbappe finished as the tournament’s Golden Boot winner, while Rodri claimed the Golden Ball as the competition’s best player. Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon received the Golden Glove award, with teenage defender Pau Cubasi named the Best Young Player of the tournament.
Spain were crowned 2026 FIFA World Cup champions after edging Argentina 1-0 in the final, with Ferran Torres scoring the decisive goal to secure La Roja’s second World Cup title.
