The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of Mr Chen Wang, a Chinese national and staff of WH Great Resource Ltd., Ogere, Ogun State.

Mr Wang was found dead with stab wounds in his office on 12 January 2025, prompting a swift response by the Ogun State Police Command. Investigations revealed that the suspects, two factory workers allegedly in a romantic relationship, exploited reduced staffing on the day of the incident to disable the company’s security system and gain access to the victim’s office, where he was fatally attacked.

They later burgled Mr Wang’s residence using keys stolen from the office before fleeing the state with cash.

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, directed the Force Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) to support detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Eleweran.

After months of surveillance and technical tracking, police operatives apprehended the suspects—Yunusa Abdullahi, 25, from Borno State, and Peace Keno Danlami, 20, from Taraba State—on 14 July 2025 in Jos, Plateau State, where they were hiding under false identities.

The arrests were made possible through the use of digital forensics, biometric analysis and coordinated human intelligence.

The Inspector General commended the Ogun State Command, the TIU, and all officers involved for their professionalism and commitment to justice. He reaffirmed the Police Force’s determination to ensure the safety of all residents, including foreign nationals, through proactive and intelligence-led policing.

The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
