Legendary Afrobeats singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face Idibia, has defended the current Nigerian political situation, saying it is “better off” today than it was many years ago.

Idibia clarified while appearing on Wazobia TV, where the Radio host referenced his classic hit, *E Be Like Say*, raising concerns that the issues the singer stated in the song still seem to play out in the country’s current political climate.

2Face reacted, saying, “We are better off than many years ago. Just look at it.”

The singer’s remark sparked reactions, while some reechoed his sentiment, citing the current economic gains, others argued that the situation is far worse, with concerns tilting towards nationwide frustrations over insecurity.

When questioned on his political interests, the singer explained that he had participated in advocacy roles that required neutrality.

The Singer further noted that he is committed to contributing to national development in his personal capacity.

“It’s still ongoing, but I will continue doing it.

“I will set up my own position and try to make a difference. I’ll try to make it work because I know where I stand,” he said.

“I have personally appointed myself as an ambassador of Nigeria… a self-appointed ambassador of Nigeria to everywhere,” he said.
