The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced October 8, 2025, as the deadline for all state pilgrim boards and licensed tour operators to remit Hajj fares ahead of the 2026 pilgrimage.
This development follows NAHCON’s earlier announcement of a provisional fare of ₦8.5 million, which is subject to adjustment pending final negotiations with service providers in Saudi Arabia.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the commission’s Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Fatima Usara, said the remittance timeline is in line with the operational schedule set by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
According to Usara, early contractual agreements and payments for services such as Mashair (pilgrimage camps) are to take place between September 6 and 23.
Additional arrangements for transport and accommodation are scheduled for September 23–24.
To firm up the necessary logistics, NAHCON Chairman Abdullahi Usman, Secretary Mustapha Ali, and other key commissioners are expected to depart for Saudi Arabia on Monday to conclude service agreements.

The Saudi authorities have also set October 12 as the final date for uploading pilgrims’ data and completing registration via the official Nusuk platform.
“This trip is in conformity with the operational calendar released by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MoHU), which specifies 6th–23rd September 2025 (15–29 Safar 1447H) as the period for early contracting and payment for Mashair (camps),” the statement reads.

“The timeline similarly announced 23rd–24th September 2025 (1–2 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1447H) as the deadline for contracting of essential services such as transportation and accommodation.
“Meanwhile, the MoHU had set 12th October 2025 (20 Rabi’ al-Thani 1447H) as deadline for pilgrims’ registration announcement and submission of pilgrims’ data for grouping via the Nusuk platform.
“Consequently, the Commission fixed 8th October 2025 as the deadline for States Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies, and Commissions, as well as licensed Hajj Tour Operators, to remit Hajj fares for the 2026 Hajj exercise.”
NAHCON emphasized the importance of meeting the deadline, stressing that prompt payment is crucial for seamless planning and the overall success of the pilgrimage.
