The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out targeted airstrikes that eliminated dozens of terrorists and destroyed a key insurgent stronghold in Borno State, as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts under Operation Hadin Kai.

This was confirmed in a statement released Thursday in Abuja by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF.

According to the statement, the airstrikes were launched around 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday in the Bula Madibale area, located within the broader Gezuwa axis.

Ejodame said surveillance intelligence had flagged suspicious activity in the area, where approximately 45 terrorists had gathered many arriving via motorcycles and bicycles from different routes.

Reconnaissance also identified two insurgent flags raised at the location, indicating its significance as a command center and safe haven for the group.

“Based on this actionable intelligence, precision airstrikes were executed, resulting in the destruction of the terrorists’ hideout and the neutralisation of numerous fighters,” Ejodame stated.

He further noted that the operation disrupted the militants’ ability to regroup or plan further attacks.

The NAF reiterated its commitment to sustaining military pressure on insurgents and working towards long-term peace and security in Nigeria’s North-East region.
