A vigil has been held on Monday for the victims of the London Bridge terror attack.
Hundreds of students and locals turned out at Cambridge and stood for a minute’s silence which was followed by a round of applause.
Jack Merritt, 25, and fellow Cambridge graduate Saskia Jones, 23, were stabbed to death in a rampage by terrorist Usman Khan on Friday, November 29, when Usman Khan, who was wearing a fake suicide device, went on a knife ramage before being shot dead by armed police.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the main opposition Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn and London Mayor Sadiq Khan all joined the vigil to honour the victims.
Mr Khan said Jack and Saksia chose to “dedicate themselves to helping others” from an early age.
Police chiefs and religious leaders also joined mourners paying respects to the murdered victims
