The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has called for the resignation of the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Mahmood Yakubu and its national commissioners, over the commission’s failure to conduct free and fair elections in the country .
The state chairman of the party, Clement Faboyede told reporters at the end of the party’s stakeholders meeting held in Akure, that the leadership of the electoral commission are ill equipped and grossly incompetent to discharge their responsibilities of their office impartially.
Faboyede noted that the continued stay in office of the officers “is a threat to the country’s democracy.

But in a swift reaction, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Wole Ajiasfe described the PDP as a bad loser.
Ajisafe praised the electoral body for conducting a peaceful election in Ondo state, describing PDP’s allegation as laughable.
