The Police Service Commission has approved the dismissal of nine senior police officers for gross misconduct.
The dismissal takes immediate effect. The commission also approved the immediate reduction in rank of six other officers for gross misconduct.
The commission also approved the punishment and severe reprimand for five officers.
The commission’s decision were part of the outcome of its fifth plenary meeting which held in Abuja on the 26th and the 27th of March 2019.
The commission’s decisions have been conveyed to the Inspector general of police for implementation.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu has arrived Gusau, the Zamfara state capital, for a town hall meeting with security agencies and other concerned citizens over the security situation in the state.
