All is now set for the Special Nomination Congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, where Governor Biodun Oyebanji is expected to be formally affirmed as the party’s flagbearer.

‎The event, which would take place at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado Ekiti, is a major step in the APC’s build-up to the 2026 governorship election in the state.

‎A total of 885 delegates from the 16 local government areas of the state are expected to participate in the Congress.

Accreditation of delegates has commenced, with party officials working to ensure a smooth and transparent process.

‎Security has also been intensified around the venue, with law enforcement personnel stationed at key entry points to maintain order and ensure the safety of participants.

‎The Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, who serves as the chairman of the Special Nomination Congress Committee, assured journalists earlier that the process would strictly follow the party’s guidelines and electoral procedures.

‎Governor Ododo emphasized that the Congress is not just a formality but a key democratic exercise that reflects the internal strength and unity of the APC in Ekiti State.

‎Party members and supporters have begun arriving at the venue, with expectations high as the APC moves one step closer to formally presenting its candidate for the 2026 election.

‎The outcome of the Congress is expected to further cement Governor Oyebanji’s standing within the party and set the tone for the APC’s campaign in the months ahead.
