The Department of Petroleum Resources in Zamfara state has vowed to sanction any filling station selling petroleum commodities above the approved government price. The state’s field officer Ango Haruna disclosed this after inspecting the sale of the products in some filling stations in Gusau and its environs.

TVC News Ibrahim Bello reports that the fuel scarcity in some parts of the country have continued to bring hardship to residents, and Zamfara state is no exception.

Many filling stations across the state are selling the commodity above the approved price of N145 (one hundred and forty five Naira) per litre.

Worried about the plight of the common man as well as in line with the performance of it’s statutorily functions, DPR Zamfara state field office has embarked on daily monitoring and supervision of the sales of the products.

This filling station is selling above government approved price even though it was a major marketer.

Fuel attendants in this filling station ran away upon sighting the DPR officials coming their way.

The DPR officials sealed off the station and say they will sanction any station playing  delay tactics in discharging the products to consumers.

Some people interviewed by TVC News revealed that government should take all necessary measures to ensure the availability of petroleum products across the country.

Despite its shortage of man power in Zamfara state the DPR said it will continue to take measures and ensure products are sells at approved price.
