Nigerians have been urged to support the policies of government aimed at involving the private sector in key areas of the economy.
Senate president, Bukola Saraki made the call in a statement to mark Nigeria 2017 Democracy Day.
He identified the current economic challenge as the greatest threat to the nation’s democracy and called for concerted and united efforts of all Nigerians to move the country out of the woods.
The senate president also called for a greater focus on locally manufactured goods, encouraging small and medium scale entrepreneurs, developing alternative sources of foreign exchange, directing attention to commercial agriculture, as well as mining of mineral resources.
