Commonwealth Games : D’Tigers to hit Australia in batches

Nigeria’s men Basketball national team, D’Tigers, will depart the shores of the country in batches for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

According to Afolabi Oni, Media Officer of the Nigerian BasketBall Federation (NBBF), six home-based players and their coaches will depart Nigeria on the 23rd of March for Australia to be joined by six foreign based players two days later.

Nigeria will take on New Zealand in their opening game at the Cairns Convention Centre on the 6th before facing Canada on the 7th at the same venue before playing host nation Australia in their final group game on the 10th of April.

According to the competition schedule, the top two teams in Group A will advance to the semifinals, while third and fourth place will play the top two teams in group B in the qualifying round.

The bottom two teams in group B will be eliminated.
