BAYELSA GIVES 7 CHILDREN SCHOLARSHIP FOR AIDING MILITARY OPERATIONS

Seven children have become beneficiaries of a Governor Diri scholarship for aiding military officers to transport food and other essentials during the 2022 flood disaster that also affected the headquarters of the Joint Task Force in Yenagoa.

The award, alongside unlimited free medical care from the Joint Task Force, Operation Delta safe, was given at End of the celebration organized for the officers and their families.

The Bayelsa State Governor Duoyi Diri was the special guest of honor as officers and men of the Joint Task Force, Operation Delta Safe celebrated the end of the year with their families and friends at the command headquarters in Yenagoa.

Seven Children were honored by the Joint Task Force Commander, Aminu Hassan for their bravery in helping to transport food to officers with small canoes during the height of the flood disaster across the state.

The kids who are set to receive continuous free medical care from the OPDS became even luckier as the Bayelsa State Governor also awarded complete scholarships to the seven of them; some to the tertiary level.

The kids could not hold back their joy as they expressed their gratitude to the Governor and the joint task force.

The guests at the occasion were also entertained with cultural displays by a local cultural group and performances from the military band.

GROUP DONATES LAPTOP TO VULNERABLE IN LAGOS

A humanitarian body has provided brand new Laptops to visually impaired students of the Bethesda home for the blind in Lagos.

Vulnerable residents of Bajulaiye community in Shomolu area of Lagos have benefitted from the gesture of a women’s rights group as they received food packs for their daily needs.

The group also calls on government to do more to cater for the social protection needs of the people.
