3 Nigerian hospitals receive $3M grant from USATD to advance healthcare

USTDA grants $3M to three hospital for improved health care

The United States Trade and Development Agency, USTDA has awarded three million dollar grant to three Nigerian hospitals to support the expansion of its telehealth services, from Nigeria , to Cote d’ Ivore , Ghana , Kenya, and Egypt.

The collaborations will help expand health care classes for over one hundred thousand individuals per year across Africa .

Health delivery in Nigeria, like other African countries is faced with a lot of challenges, such as accessibility and affordability.

These have remained major obstacles to achieving universal health coverage in African Continent .

In Nigeria for example, despite numerous efforts by succeeding Administrations in Nigeria the Health care system is still not up to standards of global best practices.

This is why the USTDA is partnering with Three Nigerian hospitals to transform, the delivery of health care to underserved communities across Nigeria and subsequently across the African continent, using the best technology that the US has to offer.

The USTDA believes the support it is giving, reflects its commitment to advancing healthcare, infrastructure , with overseas partners .

The CEOs of the selected hospitals are optimistic the partnership will provide access to millions of citizen who are in need of healthcare across the country.

The parties are confident that the partnership will provide round the clock digital healthcare solutions for the society.

The USATD grant is one of the key pillars of the President Joe Biden administration’s Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment.

The project’s goal is to improve global health security by investing in patient-centered health services.

It also advances the US government’s Prosper Africa Initiative, which aims to significantly increase two-way trade and investment between the US and Africa.
