Former local government chairmen, area administrators and supervisory councilor’s Forum in Adamawa State have criticised Governor Jibrilla Bindow for meddling with the local government Federal allocation in the name of “joint account.”

The forum in Yola during its interim executive inauguration, argued that for the prompt payment of the outstanding five months salaries of primary schools’ teachers and health workers in the state, council chairmen deserve to access their allocation unfettered.

The forum is to chart a course for the masses by advising state and federal governments on prompt action to be taken on issues affecting the third arm of government.

Speaking during the inauguration, the interim chairman Hon. Adamu Jikan Sarki said their membership spread across all political parties.

According to him, their cardinal interest is to use their various experiences and closeness to the grassroots to promote the interest of the common man.

Some members of the association, speaking to reporters after the meeting said they would continue to contribute their quota to building the state.

But the state commissioner for information Ahmad Sajoh has denied the allegation that government has been meddling with local government allocation.
