A hotel being used to quarantine Coronavirus patients has collapsed in the Chinese city of Quanzhou.
Local media reports that 70 people are trapped while at least 23 people have been pulled from the rubble of the Xinjia Hotel.
Emergency workers are combing through the five-storey building’s wreckage in the southern province of Fujian.
The hotel was being used to house and observe people who had come into contact with Covid-19 patients.
It is not clear what caused the collapse, which happened shortly after 7:30pm local time .
Nearly 150 firefighters are thought to be engaged in the rescue operation.
The reason for the collapse is not yet known.
