The overall best candidate in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), Daniella Owoeye Jesudunsin, has been awarded a ₦1 million scholarship by the Ekiti Parapo in Indiana, United States, in recognition of her outstanding performance in the national examination.
Owoeye disclosed the development in a Facebook post on Wednesday, expressing gratitude to the association, her family, and other well-wishers for celebrating her academic achievement.
TVC News Online reports that Owoeye scored 372 in the 2026 JAMB across core science subjects—English Language (98), Chemistry (98),  Physics (94), and Biology (82).
She described the recognition as a memorable experience, saying she was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support she received from those who attended the celebration.
“It was truly a memorable and heartwarming moment to be celebrated and surrounded by the love of family, friends, and well-wishers. My heart is filled with profound gratitude. I sincerely appreciate everyone who made the occasion special and showed me such overwhelming kindness.”
The JAMB top scorer also commended the Ekiti Parapo in Indiana, USA, for the ₦1 million scholarship, describing the gesture as a source of encouragement that would inspire her to pursue greater academic excellence.
“I sincerely appreciate the Ekiti Parapo in Indiana, USA, for their exceptional care, generosity, and immeasurable love. Your kindness, support, and warm hospitality made the occasion even more special, and I do not take any of it for granted. This scholarship is a great encouragement, and I will continue to strive for excellence.”
She further acknowledged the support of the Obaleo of Erinmope-Ekiti, Oba Dr Sunday Aikuirawo Aniyi Amoyimade Atayese I, the President of Ekiti Parapo, Hon. Awoniyi, her parents, family members, and other guests who attended the celebration.
