The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, Mele Kyari has denied allegation of involvement in the Importation of substandard Petroleum Products and perceived Sabotage of Domestic Refineries.
He faced the senate to answer questions on the inoperative state of the Country’s local refineries despite the huge allocation allotted for the turn around maintenance of the local refineries.
This was the outcome of an interactive meeting between the Senate’s Adhoc Committee and Key Actors in Nigeria’s Petroleum Industry over the alleged Economic Sabotage in the Nigerian Petroleum Industry.

This Adhoc Committee led by the leader of the Senate , Senator Opeyemi Bamidele is determined to get to the root of the situation and unmask those behind the inefficiency in Nigeria’s Petroleum Sector.
Although the Committee insists it’s inquisition is not to witch-hunt or trade blames , but it is worried that the country’s assets are left in ruins despite huge allocations to revive the country’s domestic refineries.
Key Actors in Nigeria’s Petroleum Industry invited, also expressed frustration with the situation , denying all allegations of direct involvement in the alleged sabotage.
However, they appealed to the committee to ensure that its proposed public hearings are open and widely televised to ensure transparency and avert any misconceptions.
The Committee also announced plans to jointly conduct the investigation with the House of Representatives.
