The Jigawa State Police Command has announced the arrest of 333 suspected criminals in connection with various criminal offenses committed across the state in the second quarter of the year.
During a press briefing held at the Command’s headquarters, the Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Tijjani Abdullahi, disclosed the Command’s achievements in the second quarter of the year.
The Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Tijjani Abdullahi, who highlighted the successful apprehension of 333 suspects, underscoring the Command’s commitment to reducing crime and ensuring public safety.
Ahmed Tijjani explained that from April to June, the command succeeded in arresting 25 Armed Robbers, 6 Kidnappers, and 39 Rapists, among many more.
The police boss added that within three months, three fraudsters and a total number of 101 suspected drug barons and drug users were apprehended at various parts of the state.
According to him the command also arrested a 23-year-old school teacher, Yusuf Yunusa, for allegedly sodomizing twelve of his students in Gwaram Local Government.
According to the Police commissioner, the items recovered from them includes two fabricated pistols, two Dane guns, five ammunition, and live pump action cartridges.
Mr. Ahmed Tijjani said most of the suspects confessed to the crime and have been arraigned.
