A former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Mojeed Alabi, says politics of “stomach infrastructure” by politicians is hampering the delivery of good governance to the electorate in the country.
Professor Mojeed Alabi was delivering a lecture in Ede, Osun State.
It’s a lecture marking the 40th anniversary of the Group.
The guest speaker, Professor Mojeed Alabi said though the 2027 General election is still far away from now but believes a journey of a thousand mile begins with a step
He said electorate must begin to ask questions on the capacity of politicians vying for elective posts before voting for them.
According to him, stomach infrastructure, which is being used as vote catching strategy by politicians has blinded the electorate from asking their leaders questions on good governance
He tasked Nigerians not to allow themselves to be deceived with food and other relief items being shared by politicians.
The State Governor, Ademola Adeleke and some other important personalities were presented with awards at the event.
The need for wealthy individuals and non-governmental organisations to continue to support government in providing basic amenities to the people was also stressed.
