SUPREME COURT NULLIFIES TARABA APC GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARY, ORDERS FRESH CONTEST

Supreme Court nullifies election of Emmanuel Bwacha a governorship candidate of the APC for Taraba state.

Upholds judgment of the trial court which ordered the party to conduct fresh primaries.

The Supreme Court has set aside the judgment of the court of Appeal Yola division which on 24th November 2022 reinstated Emmanuel Bwacha as the governorship candidate of the APC for Taraba State.

The Apex in its Judgment held that it was evident that no valid governorship primary election was conducted by the APC in the state.

IKIE IS AN INTERLOPER, HAS NO CASE – DELTA PDP

Now, supporters of the governorship candidate of the PDP, in Delta State, as well as party faithfuls have been advised to remain focused over the malicious suit filed against the party and the candidate by a former governorship candidate Aghwarianovwe Ikie.

In a statement by the Delta PDP Campaign Council spokesperson, ,Fred Oghenesivbe alleged that the former governorship aspirant who scored zero vote at the governorship primaries of PDP in May last year, is trying to use the judiciary to achieve the impossible.

He noted that Mr. Ikie is fully based in the United Kingdom where he has been practicing law, adding that the Plaintiff is not known to be an active player in the internal politics of PDP.

Mr. Oghenesivbe further posited that Mr. Ikie is not a popular politician in Delta State, saying that his mission is to cause petty confusion in the party.

 

The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission has met with the management of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited to discuss the possibility of a sufficient supply of petroleum products across the country on election day, particularly for the vehicles INEC will deploy to convey voting materials and personnel.

INEC MEETS NNPC OVER FUEL SCARCITY, ELECTION LOGISTICS

The INEC chairman appealed to the NNPC to approve his proposal to use  NNPC land and floating mega stations nationwide to service election duty vehicles and boats.

He says INEC will bear the cost of the products, and By doing so, there will be a guaranteed supply for elections.

He also asked for permission to make a special arrangement with other marketers in locations where the NNPC may not have dedicated stations, and Consider other options to support the electoral body’s seamless operations on Election Day.

The Chairman of INEC Professor Mahmood Yakubu told officials at Nigeria’s Oil Company that the commission is mobilizing one hundred thousand vehicles and four thousand boats for the deployment of personnel and materials to one hundred and seventy-six thousand, eight hundred and forty-six polling units spread across eight thousand, eight hundred and nine registration areas.

APC RAISES ALARM IN OSUN OVER ALLEGED PLANS TO SCUTTLE ITS PRESIDENTIAL RALLY

The All Progressives Congress in Osun state has alleged the people’s democratic party of planning to scuttle Tinubu/Shettima presidential rally slated for Thursday in Osogbo, the state Capital.

Spokesperson of Tinubu’s presidential campaign council, Remi Omowaye equally lamented that series of violence have been unleashed on the APC members since the tribunal declared Adegboyega Oyetola winner of July 16 Governorship election.

 

He called on the inspector general of police, Usman Baba Alkali and other sister security agencies to intervene towards foiling the sinister moves and ensuring peaceful atmosphere for the APC presidential campaign.
