According to Sources who are privy to the meeting, the Governors are expected to announce their candidate on the 5th of January.

There are indications that they may favour the candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi,

The decision though may not change much on the ground with Oyo, Benue, Abia and Enugu States all still believed to be in play for either the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party while Rivers could swing any way.
