The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Owode Onire constituency of Kwara state, Rukayat Shittu has reacted to the court of appeal judgment granting her victory over the disputed primary election.
The 26 year old politician in a brief chat after the court judgment stated that “Even though the court of appeal has given its judgment in our favor, I do not see this as victory, no winner no loser, we are all one family, and I urge everyone to come together to deliver victory for our party across all levels”.
She further charged party faithful to put their hands together and work to deliver victory for the APC in the 2023 general election while she appreciated the support of all.
Recall that a court of appeal declared Rukayat Shittu as the legitimate candidate for the All progressives Congress in Owode Onire State constituency for the Kwara state house of Assembly.
The Court of Appeal threw out the case of her challenger, Ayinde Alajere for lacking merit.
Rukayat, who is the first female senate president at the Congress of National Open University of Nigeria Students won the APC primary election for Owode Onire to represent the constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly.
Speaking on this development, Rukayat Shittu said the journey so far has been challenging but rewarding.
According to her, she sees the party as that of family and enjoined everyone to work together towards acheiving the party’s goal in 2023.
