Vehicles burnt in Monguno as troops repel deadly ISWAP attack

At least 20 vehicles were burnt when insurgents broke into a humanitarian aid organization compound in Monguno Local Council area of Borno State.

Sources say ISWAP insurgents attacked the town at about 1am on Thursday shooting sporadically.

An Intelligence Sources reveals that the insurgents target were aid workers.

He added that after failing to find any of the workers in the compound, they burnt about 20vehicles.

The terrorists also attempted to cart away three hilux vehicles but met a stiff resistance by the troops of Sector 3 Operation Hadin Kai who engaged them in a heavy gunbattle.

Monguno is located near the Lake Chad region of Nigeria which is about 137 kilometers away from Maiduguri capital of Borno state.
