Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has presented his economic agenda for the country to business leaders, investors, and captains of industry from various sectors ahead of the 2023 elections.
The interactive session with industrialists, business executives, entrepreneurs, and foreign investors held at the Eko Hotels and Suites in Victoria Island at the request of the Lagos State government.
The event was also attended by Tinubu’s running mate, Sen. Kashim Shettima, APC governors, and party stalwarts, including Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group; Tony Elumelu, foremost entrepreneur and investor; and Mr Jim Ovia, Founder of Zenith Bank.
Speaking at the event, the APC presidential candidate, said that the 2023 election would provide Nigeria with another chance to either become great or become irrelevant.
He added that the main initiatives of his economic policies would not be limited to the sole domain of one industry, noting that the benefits would come from the cooperation between the public and private sectors.
According to him, the private sector and the government should be at odds all the time. Still, they must not fight as adversaries, arguing that the government and business community must work together to combat the common enemies of scarcity, underdevelopment, joblessness, and the fear they have instilled in the polity.
He also assured that said his administration would be targeting double-digit GDP for the country to reduce the poverty rate and revive industries by bringing the nation’s industrial policy to life.
Speaking on Asiwaju’s pan-Nigeria Agenda, National Secretary, Humanitarian, Social Directorate, APC, PCC, Hon Olusegun Olulade stated that it is important to look at the personality of who is presenting the pan-Nigeria agenda.
According to Shehu Bashir, member, media directorate, APC presidential campaign council, the manifesto as presented by the APC Presidential Candidate is what is to be called an Encyclopedia of good governance.
Most people don’t really understand exactly who Asiwaju is.
Bashir noted that most persons who have been in good governance in the past would understand exactly the book represents.
“One thing that you cannot take away from this Manifesto is that it has touched almost every aspect of our life if not
“The issue of good governance entails security, education, agriculture, health and everything.
“Asiwaju understands the problems and he has provided solution to the problems in the manifesto.
“He has also put down a laid down procedure through which these problems can be solved.
“If you are going to make your decision to vote for who, based on reasoning, based on Superior argument, based on verifiable facts, based on variable policies, you can’t but just listen and accept Asiwaju as a right person to lead this country come 2023.
“If we allow sincere merit of antecedent to determine who contests elections, I’m not very sure on the scale of preference, some who do not have to pick a form for governorship election let alone Nigerian president.
Bashir said the presidential election is a very serious business which is not for everybody.
“Asiwaju hs shown to shown to the whole world that this job is a serious business and he knows how to do it based on previous antecedents.
“One of the best capacity to get the job done is to know who to pick for your job across the length and breadth of this country, but I cannot pinpoint one single person among the candidates who can stand shoulder to shoulder with Asiwaju and say to him ‘he is more pan-Nigerian’ than Asiwaju.
