FIFA bans CAF president Ahmad Ahmad for five years over corruption

World football governing body ,FIFA has handed embattled president of Confederation of African Football Ahmad Ahmad a five year ban .

The 60 year old administrator from Madagascar was found guilty by the adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee of having breached articles 20,25 and 28.


The articles relate to abuse of position, offering and accepting of benefits and misappropriation of funds.

The investigation into Mr.  Ahmad’s conduct concerned various CAF-related governance issues, including the organisation and financing of an Umrah pilgrimage to Mecca.
