President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the re-instatement of Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe as the vice chancellor of the university of Lagos.
A report submitted by the committee made available to the media by the ministry of Education, says the removal of Professor Ogundipe as the Vice Chancellor did not follow due process.
According to the report, the process adopted by the Council in the appointment of Professor Omololu Soyombo as Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University was inconsistent with the provisions of the Law relating to the appointment of an Acting Vice-Chancellor.
The president therefore calls for the dissolution of the Governing council.
Mr. Ogundipe was removed from office by the Wale Babalakin-led governing council of the university on August 12.
