Thousands of bales of second hand clothings have been evacuated from a warehouse in Abule-Egba in Lagos by operatives of Customs Strike Force team zone A.
The consignment which is an absolute prohibited commodity, contravenes federal government’s import policy.
This is the second warehouse the strike force team is evacuating within the year.
More than five trucks were deployed to evacuate thousands of bales of second hand clothings from the warehouse.
The strike force coordinator, Abba Kakudi said intelligence report led to the uncovering of the warehouse located in a Lagos suburb.
The coordinator said that smuggling trend has become worrisome, noting that in spite of recurring seizures, smugglers have remained relentless.
Schedule three of the customs excise and management Act dictates that absolute prohibited items such as this seizure remains forfeited to government.
