The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, said there is need to ensure non-governmental organisations operating in the northeast work in the interest of Nigeria.
It is a task he believed the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs must take in her stride. He spoke at a forum on National Security at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre Abuja.
The Chief of Army Staff justified the need for the forum in the wake of evolving security challenges, but the Army Chief is also concerned about the activities of Non Governmental Organisations especially those in the northeast of the country.
In the last one year the Army have come up against some International NGOs which it accuses of undermining the war against terrorism in the country.
The forum intends to add its resolutions to a plethora of summations on tackling the security challenges in the country.
