The Ekiti State Government is hosting a 10 kilometre marathon in partnership with Ikogosi Marathon initiative Company on December 14.
At a Press Conference in Ado Ekiti, the Commissioner for Youths and Sport Development in Ekiti State, Michael Awopetu, and the Ikogosi Marathon initiative Company, said Athletes who wish to participate in the Race will register for Free, as everything is put in place to make the event Grand.
The Marathon Race which is expected to meet international Standards will be an annual event, but will Kickstart with a 10km race this year between Aramoko,Erinjiyan and Ikogosi axis of the state,with 2,000 athletes to participate
The Sporting event is expected to open up Tourism Opportunity and potentials of the Warm and Spring at the city of Ikogosi, in Ekiti State, and in the coming Years will serve as basis for revenue generation for the State government
