UK defence Secretary Gavin Williamson has been sacked following an investigation concerning plans to allow Huawei limited build UK ‘s new 5G network .
The inquiry in to the national security council leak began after a newspaper report on warnings within the cabinet about possible risks to national security over a deal with Huawei, there has been no formal confirmation of Hauwei’s role in the 5G Network.
In a meeting with Mr Williamson on Wednesday, Theresa May was said to have told Mr Williamson she had information that provided “compelling evidence” that he was responsible for the unauthorized disclosure.
Mr Williamson, who has been defence secretary since 2017, however denied leaking the information.
In a letter confirming his dismissal, May said: “No other, credible version of events to explain this leak has been identified.”
Hauwei has also denied any risk of spying or sabotage , or that it is controlled by Chinese Government.
