A fifth-generation mobile network-based bus has commenced operation in Nanning City, south China’s Guangxi Autonomous Region.
This is the latest progress of China’s application of its newest internet connectivity to the public transportation.
Passengers will be able to enjoy the 5G wi-fi service on the Number sixteen bus running through Nanning city center and high data rate on their mobile devices.
The 5G network had already been used on a bus route in southwest China’s Chengdu City late last year. The technology has also been successfully tested on high-speed trains there.
Other Chinese cities are following suit trying to apply the new communications technology.
