Osun has now joined the few States in Nigeria that have had their television signals switched from analogue to digital. This is just as the state Governor, Rauf Aregbesola enjoins the federal government to ensure content control through regulations.
Correspondent Rafiu Hammed reports that the becomes the 6th state in the country and the 1st in the southwest to switch over from analogue to digital television broadcast. Plateau, Abuja, Kwara, Kaduna and Enugu had earlier switched over.
Minister of information and culture, Lai Muhammed explains that the benefit of the digital switch over is endless.
Osun state Governor, Rauf Aregbesola said the consequences of not controlling contents would defeat the essence of the initiative.
Various speakers harped on the need to ensure the entire 36 States of the federation are covered to increase citizens access to information.
