The University of Lagos Chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities on Tuesday sensitised its members on the need to join the nationwide strike declared by the ASUU national office.
TVC News’ Education Correspondent, Sharon Ijasan reports that ASUU leadership in the institution appealed to its members to support the union’s course for the good of all.
ASUU’s national President, Abiodun Ogunyemi had on Monday directed all ASUU state chapters to commence an immediate indefinite nationwide strike after it pulled out of negotiation with the federal government.
Ogunyemi accused the federal government of failing to implement the agreement it signed with the union since 2009 despite several meetings with its representatives.
