The Nigerian government has unveiled a $300 million World Bank facility to support the National Housing Programme.
A Director at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Adedeji Adesemoye, says the initiative will improve access to housing financing.
Adesemoye stressed the need for artisans and low income earners to own personal homes with a guaranteed credit from the CBN.
He said the disbursement will be on performance of the loan, adding that about two tranches of the loan had been disbursed.
He also revealed that individuals would get supports from accredited Micro-Finance Institutions working with Mortgage Guarantee and Insurance institutions.
