Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel has taken the lead of the formula one world championship with victory of the Bahrain Grand Prix.
Title rival Lewis Hamilton received a five-second penalty for holding up Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo in the pit lane.
Vettel utilised the penalty and took the lead in lap 41 and held on for the final 16
Hamilton finished in second while his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas also made it onto the podium in third place at Sakhir Circuit

It was Vettel’s second victory of the season and leaves the German seven points ahead of Hamilton in the nascent standings.
