Eagles, B’Faso friendly cancelled over visa hitches

Nigeria’s second friendly against Burkina Faso in London on Monday has been called off after seven players in the Burkinabe contingent failed to secure entry visas into the UK

World football governing body FIFA approved the game against Burkina Faso, but fresh facts are now emerging that the NFF may have run foul of a FIFA rule that allows for two travel days and another two rest days between matches for any team during the friendly window.

With the Stallions in action against Morocco last Friday in Marrakesh, the earliest they would have played would be on Wednesday.

Eagles backroom staff, are yet to join the squad in London.
