The National Water Policy presented to cabinet was backed with a draft water resources bill which streamlines all the overlapping laws in the sector.
Also presented was a water irrigation and drainage policy expected to ensure better management and allocation of infrastructure in the sector.
The policies are expected to ensure better supply of water to consumers and better usage of irrigation in agriculture in more parts of the country.
