Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has expressed sadness over the tragic bandit attack on communities in Bukkuyum Local Government Area, which claimed innocent lives and left several others injured.

According to a Sunday statement signed by his media aide, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Governor Lawal described the night assault on Bunkasau, Yar Galma in Zarumai Ward, and Dogon Daji in Adabka Ward as a heartbreaking and senseless act of violence against defenceless citizens.

The Governor extends his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, sharing in their pain and grief at this moment of immense loss and devastation.

The statement further disclosed that Governor Lawal has directed the immediate deployment of a high-level delegation led by his deputy, Mani Malam Mummuni, to convey condolences, provide support to affected families, and ensure prompt medical attention for the injured.

He reassures the people of Zamfara State of the government’s resolve to intensify efforts to safeguard lives and restore peace across all communities.

TVC News previously reported that the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, Ahmad Muhammad Bello, has visited the Yarkatsinan Laka community in Bungudu Local Government Area to commiserate with residents after a recent bandit attack that claimed the lives of two police officers and three civilians.

The attackers, on 7th April 2026, at about 17:55 hours, riding on over 50 motorcycles and carrying sophisticated weapons, invaded Yarkatsinan Laka Community as police mobilised swiftly to engage the assailants, killing over 11 criminals.

In a Wednesday statement signed by DSP Yazid Abubakar, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CP Bello commiserated with the families of the deceased and reassured the community of the police’s commitment to strengthening the security architecture.
