The Warri Refineries and Petrochemicals Comapny’s Area One has commenced operations, producing Automotive Gas Oil popularly kinown as Diesel, Kerosene, LPG, and heavy Naphtha.

The cioming on stream of the Warri Refineries following on from the Port Harcourt Refinery Old plant is expected to help in driving down the cost of products in the dowstream sector.

The downward trend in the prices has seen marginal price reduction of the Premium Motor Spirit from the over N1000 it was selling for to an average of N950 across the country.

The refining of products domestically combined with the Dangote refineries and other modular refineries is also expected to have a positive impact on the exchange rate.

The Warri Refinery’s Area One has officially resumed operations, producing AGO, kerosene, LPG, and heavy naphtha.

Currently operating at 60% capacity, the refinery is producing 75,000 barrels per day.

This development was revealed by the management of NNPCL and NMDPRA during a recent visit to the facility.
